Talk about two kinds of Louis Vuitton handbag

Tuesday, June 30th, 2009

Today we are going to do something new. There are two Louis Vuitton handbags here, and we are going to compare them.

I don’t usually do that ,and this is even stranger, because I’m comparing the same bag in two colors. These are two versions of the Louis Vuitton handbags—-Louis Vuitton hysteria bag black and ivory.

Both versions of the bag feature a roomy interior, a large inner pocket, a detachable shoulder strap, and detachable tassels which I particularly like, because while we have definitely see some Louis Vuitton handbags that really work their tassels well, sometimes you just don’t want them hanging off your bag.

My issue is with the ivory bag. See, naturally, both of these Louis Vuitton handbags are leather. Now, maybe it’s just me, but the ivory version just looks cheap. In fact, it doesn’t even look like it’s made out of leather in this shot, it looks more like poorly sewn linen, or straight up polyester. my advice is to go for the black Louis Vuitton handbag . If you need a white Louis Vuitton handbag for whatever reason, you can definitely find a better one.

These Louis Vuitton handbags bother me and it’s not because I don’t like them. Well, more correctly, I like one of them. The black one is beautiful. The leather looks positively scrumptious, it is so supple. The construction is to die for, the structure is scintillating, the proportions are absolutely perfect.

Eye Beauty Enhancement Tips from Melany Whitney CPCP, DAAM

Melany Whitney is an expert permanent cosmetics technician. She is highly regarded by the press and others in her industry and has become the “voice” for permanent cosmetics; regularly interviewed on national television and for fashion magazines. In this interesting article you are sure to learn a few new tips to enhance your eyes even if you don’t wear permanent cosmetics.

If you are considering permanent makeup for the first time, you’ve got lots of questions. This article will help you to understand why permanent cosmetics should be your new beauty enhancement. With a permanent makeup application there is literally no “down time”, you’ll be ready to show off your new prettier you right after your procedure.

If you are looking for freedom from makeup, permanent makeup can give you the freedom to look your best at anytime. You can transition immediately from work to an evening out without having to be a slave to the mirror for touch ups; just a quick powder and you’re out the door.

For this special piece, we’ve interviewed Melany Whitney on how she beautifies and enhances eyes permanently. We think that you will find her artistic insight interesting reading.

Interviewer: Melany, you do such a wonderful job on enhancing eye beauty, but don’t clients get uncomfortable with you working so close to their eyes with needles?

Melany: Let me explain a little about the eye area first. The eyelids are literally the two folds of skin that shield the eyeball. The upper eyelid is larger and more moveable. It regulates the opening and closing of the eye with the help of the Orbicularis Palpebrarum muscle. Lower lid movement is slight. The eyelids act to sweep dirt from the surface of the eye, protecting it from injury, and helping distribute tear fluid.

As a permanent cosmetic practitioner, I am frequently working in close proximity to the eye and over the major protection for the eye, the eyelid. This is the biggest fear that my clients have - can I go into their actual eyeball during a procedure? Well, because the eyelids are the protection for the eye - I only work with a closed lid - thus protecting the eyeball at all times. I hold the lid firmly, but gently, in order to get enough stretch for pigment retention in that area. Poking a client in the eye has never been a concern for me a seasoned technician. The part of the eyelid that I work on is thicker at the margin - called the Tarsal Ridge. This is where most technicians DO NOT put color because it is actually more difficult to do, if one is not familiar with the physiology of that area.

Interviewer: So do you put color there in the Tarsal Ridge?

Melany: Yes, I feel that any eye lining procedure is not complete without some darkness being put in between the client’s eyelashes (the Tarsal ridge area) to give the appearance of a fuller and thicker lash base. It usually is an area in which you simply cannot get conventional eyeliner - so that the line you get with over the counter products, winds up accentuating the thinning of our lash line instead of plumping it up.

I always include this lash enhancement, which in most cases is all that is needed, to give one a “brighter and open eyed” look. It is natural and cannot be easily detected as “added”. You can go to sleep, wake up, swim, sweat, etc. without “tell tale raccoon eyes”.

Interviewer: What about the client who wants a more dramatic look?

Melany: If my client wishes a bit more thickness or darkness to that upper lash line, I can add a tad thicker line in that area to make that area even more outstanding. At the same time, I try to keep a “soft edge” to both the top and bottom liners for that all important natural appearance.

Interviewer: What about the lower lid, I think you do something different there don’t you?

Melany: Yes I do, the lower liner is definitely treated a bit differently than the top liner. It needs to be put in-between each bottom lash and in a more of a stippled or connected dots technique. Due to the natural salt we have in our tears - the bottom line will always fade a lot more than the top and give a softer effect - but a very important one. Without bottom definition, your eyes tend to look droopy and tired. Done correctly, which means, NOT done with a thick application, the liner will actually make your eyes “pop”. If not done in just that precise way, a thick black liner will tend to “close the eye up”.

Interviewer: What about color selections and what colors should not be used?

Melany: The choices in color for eyeliner have basically come down to black and black brown. Color can actually be applied as a shadow above the liner (permanently or by conventional means) if desired later. If you understand color theory - the reason you should not rim your eyes with a medium or light brown is that those browns tend to have too much warmth or red tones in them and can give your eyes a “rabbit eye” (pink) effect.

Interviewer: Any other important tips for us today on eyeliner?

Melany: Another VERY important tip is that eyeliners should NOT go past the last lash in any direction (top or bottom). This is due to the fact that if done in the medial area or outer Canthus area of the eye, you could experience “migration”, weeping or bleeding of the color under the skin, where it is not supposed to be. I am asked many times to pass these parameters and decline. Better safe than sorry in these instances!

Another comment I’d like to make is that all black eyeliner pigments have “blue” in them. This blue will eventually come out months to years down the road. This has never been a “negative” to be concerned about, since all eyes look great with the smallest bit of blue or charcoal around them. Actually this “fading” tends to make light blue eyes a bit greener looking! This does not indicate that your technician is using “common” tattoo ink in your liner - it is simply a reality of the color black.

Interviewer: What great tips and insights into how you enhance eyes permanently. I think that even if you don’t wear permanent cosmetics that your tips about color and placement of liner every woman can use to improve her personal eye beauty even with removable makeup.

Buying a perfect fashion jewellery

Sunday, June 28th, 2009

Now-a-days people want to be as presentable as possible. To augment anyone’s personality fashion jewellery is an essential need. Only clothes you wear can add up to your personality but without the matching accessories you cannot present yourself in a handsome manner. Fashion jewellery enhances the outlook and gives a different look. But fashion jewellery is not an evergreen thing. You have to wear different type of jewellery for different occasions. Same jewellery can’t go with every dress. You have to keep on changing your jewellery with the change in fashion. Some of the jewellery items remain in fashion for year on years but usually fashion keeps on changing. So you need a large sum of money to remain in fashion. Due to the growing demand of fashion jewellery, it is coming into many designs and styles.

Besides jewellery markets, one can buy fashion jewellery online. Today different varieties of jewellery such as diamond, silver, gold and beaded jewellery are available in online jewellery stores. In past people were very interested in diamonds because diamonds are known to be the girl’s best friend. But now the time has changed and the meanings of fashion are no more same as they were. Now people are more attracted towards the semi-precious metal. Silver and beaded jewellery is not only economical but one can continuously change them according to the design and color of their dress. Most of the online jewellery stores are equipped with this affordable semi-precious material jewellery. Due the higher demand of this type of jewellery, designers have to make new designs in semi-precious metals. Fashion experts are making jewellery by keeping in mind the cost of the jewellery because to be on top their brand should suit the middle and upper middle class.

In today’s world people are finding ease in every matter. Therefore concept of delivery at doorstep is gaining popularity day by day. Buying fashion jewellery from online stores can also be a great choice because you can purchase jewellery of your choice at your doorstep. You don’t have to go jewellery stores. This made an earth into a tiny global village. You have an access to any part of the world. Every thing is available online without extra cost. Buying online is suitable for you because there are also updated fashion tips are available on internet. You can see the snap shots of the jewellery just by sitting at home. Online jewellery stores also deliver the product within the mentioned time. Many companies are working online and selling their products to the both local and international markets.

Online shopping stores usually sell the items at discount because of their low overheads. But besides the source of shopping you should also keep in mind the right choice of jewellery that match with your dress. If you don’t have these aspects in mind than you can never be able to find perfect jewellery.

Fashin tips for this year

Saturday, June 27th, 2009

Do you watch fashion shows? I like fashion in general and yes, I do watch fashion shows. It is strange how all of your friends will give their opinion about your relationships, but none of them will have anything but praise for your clothes. You can be one of the most atrocious dressers out there, and your friends will still complement the way that you are dressed. I guess it’s just one of those traits of the society. Fashion tips are not easily given. I think this is regrettable. Many people would appreciate some fashion guidance. I am sure of that because I am one of them. I have always been completely blind to the latest fashion trends, and it has made my life more difficult than it would be otherwise.

The problem is that I don’t have that many people in my life willing to give me a fashion tip when I ask for it. Some of my friends are not better than I am, so they tend to value me in my odd look. They feel that they might ruin the effect if they give me fashion tips. Never mind the fact that this is offensive - it is also a little bit crippling to my fashion sense. When I was young, I liked to dress like a slob, but I’m sick of it now. All I would need is a tip on fashion accessories, how to match pants and shirts, and a few other basic things now and then. A few fashion tips would be nice even if I am not asking for a guidebook.

None of the fashion guides I have looked at on the Internet seemed very good. Most of the fashion tips that they offer are so sleazy that they look downright 1980s. I know that the persons around me do not wear that kind of clothes, so I can’t figure out how they get off offering providing those sorts of fashion tips. I guess that whenever the advice comes from and expert, some people are willing to pay the price.

One of the best things about being in a relationship for me is the clothes tips that I get. Even if I am not dating at the present time, my last girlfriend gave great fashion suggestion. She always was giving me fashion tips, even if I didn’t ask for it. I miss them in some ways now, even though I did not always appreciate them. I always knew that, if I was willing to follow her fashion tips, I would look sharp. It makes me feel good to look nice. What about you?

How to choose maternity clothes?

Friday, June 26th, 2009

Excited about your maternity, but do not know how to look good?! Looking for the perfect, maternity clothes to stay stylish even when your figure is anything but perfect? Read ahead for some helpful maternity clothes fashion tips:

1. Selection of the right fabric- Opt for a fabric that does good to your appearance. Fabrics with a smooth silky flow that falls luxuriously on your body makes a great choice. Make sure that it feels comfortable to wear, and is stretchable too. During maternity, it is best to opt for clothes in such materials that do not look shabby, and don’t develop creases easily. Fabrics like jersey are great options. They look fabulous, and feel great too.

2. Flaunt your Curves- As you enter maternity, feel proud to show off your over sized belly. You don’t have to try hiding your curves. Remember, after a few months, it would get impossible to hide your curves any way. It is therefore best to accept the huge belly gracefully and instead of hiding it, just let it be. It will save you from the strain of having to make uncomfortable conscious efforts to hide your belly that would only make you look silly when your efforts finally go futile.

3. Dress with simplicity- This is one of the most important fashion tips to follow as you dress during your maternity. Regardless of how much you like to dress, and whether you are used to over dressing or not, when it comes to dressing during maternity, it is best to follow the ’simple and elegant’ mantra. Dress rich and classy if you want to, but try not to pile up too much of stuff on yourself. For instance, for a dinner party, a simple gown, with a nice necklace would be just right for you, even if you are somebody who does not go without elaborately designed clothes and accessories. A nice matured look, with a touch of elegance, is something that really suits a to-be- mother!

4. Size of the clothes- Opt for such maternity clothes that fit well. Though to most mothers, opting for loose, extra baggy clothes seems like a great idea, remember, a smart look is always better than a shabby look. However, do not make the mistake of buying clothes that are just fitting either. Go for clothes that fit you well on the back and the shoulders, and are comfortably loose and airy at the belly. These days, special maternity clothes designed extra large at the bellies have become the most preferred choice.

5. Clothes that grow- Maternity clothes should preferably be extremely stretchable, so that they can grow in size with your belly. This adds utility to the clothes, so that you can wear them for many more months during your pregnancy period.

So get some amazing maternity clothes for those cherished months of your life, as your baby develops in your womb. Flaunt it and wear T-shirts with tag lines announcing the baby’s arrival! Look great with the right maternity clothes and celebrate your joy, not just feeling, but also looking great!

2009 Menswear Trend: Goth Ninja

Saturday, June 20th, 2009

Goth Ninja/Batman meets Rick Owens/Dorian Gray meets Damir Doma/Japanese rock star, whatever you call it, it’s hot and it’s growing.

One of the biggest yet somehow underground driven trends in the last couple of years has been the Goth Ninja; and it’s growing as a fashion trend in 2009. The figure hugging, black clad youths are perhaps the biggest consumers of the lesser celebrated designers. They’ve moved away from most big name Parisian and Milanese designers and reverted back to the Antwerp six and most recently the Tokyo 6 (or was it 7 or 8? I stopped counting after Mihara Yasuhiro).

Its origins are a little bit ambiguous but it seems to be a combination of a misconception of Japanese street wear and self made “waywt” celebrities. This makes it all the more interesting as it may not have necessarily been started out by any one designer or collection. Perhaps the closest one would be Takahiro Miyashita’s Number (N)ine A/W 2006. The look has even been picked up by international celebrities such as Big Bang, and umm… well maybe more if the Sartorialist went to a Manifest exhibition which I’m sure would make the look more popular.

To the untrained eye they would definitely look stylish with no obvious logos showing but on closer inspection you would be looking at a full blown label whore. A typical outfit would demonstrate one’s fashion knowledge displaying particular attention to design and detail with an expert ability to mix and match. Most outfits would consist of a basic tee from American Apparel, layered with an Ann Demeulemeester top; perhaps a Rick Owens knit and an Undercover or Martin Margiela coat. Bottoms are less daring with the elusive and figure hugging Dior Homme 17 cm jeans or a looser Comme Des Garcons drop-crotch. Throw in a Balenciaga The Day bag or a Louis Vuitton Shopper, some cheap silver accessories, a pair of very expensive Number (N)ine worn leather boot and there you have it. The look is raw, deconstructed, extremely modern but yet very controlled and still very masculine.

Fortunately you wouldn’t find them rolling in pigeon blood at Flinders Street Station in Melbourne, nor would you see them running around with a samurai sword. They’d most likely be located outside of a Chanel store, distracted with stalking their female equivalents. This perhaps makes it easier to clobber them on their heads and run off with 10K worth of goods. Kidding.

Fads and Fashions

Friday, June 19th, 2009

“Following the crowd” is something that we have all been guilty of. But new investors are more likely to “follow the crowd” and fall in love with the latest fad. This is a great risk, and a dangerous one. Newer investors tend to be particularly attracted to fads and fashions in investing. Remember the internet bubble back in the 90s? So many people lost money buying in at the end of the cycle. Of course, those who bought in early made great profits, but these investors often bought in on fundamentals, not hype.

As investors, we look toward the “next big thing.” Sometimes this motivation leads us right into a Red Alert zone. The investment mess from the internet bubble is just one example. History is full of stories like the Tulip Craze in Holland back in the 17th century. These crazes cause people to follow each other over an investment cliff without thinking, like lemmings on a Science Channel special.

Think about the clothing industry and its fashions. History shows that the “latest” trend lasts only a short time. So, while investing in trendy clothing stores may bring short-term success, the failure is often even more spectacular?and inevitable. Typically, by the time we learn about a “new” trend, it’s already “so last season”.

We can even get hurt in fashion trends that are not immediately visible. Oh sure, athletic shoes are every bit as popular as they’ve ever been. Or are they? Over the past 5 years, hiking shoes have snuck up on the “sneaks” in popularity. That’s right, hiking boots and shoes are in; tennis shoes and sneakers are out. But instead of buying stocks from Timberland, think about Nike as a long-term stable investment instead. Anyhoo, it’s probably too late to buy Timberland now. The fashion trend has already had its day. But because of this experience we can expect new footwear trends to show up. It may be too late to adapt, it’s nearly impossible to keep up, and by the time we figure out where the trend is headed, we’ve probably missed the stock price rise.

So how do we avoid the mistake of buying out of sheer excitement? The answer is simple. Look for companies that are bor-ing. Investing in apparently dull companies can actually be beneficial. Boring companies normally don’t have share prices that are puffed-up by mood swings and emotional buying. We’re simply buying an income stream - the most affordable way to invest. Also, the company’s future prospects are more secure, because they aren’t at risk of missing a major shift.

Okay let’s face it. Owning a firm in Ohio that makes widgets for industrial fasteners is not as “cool” as discussing your ownership of Tiffany’s, or the latest nanotechnology corporation in Silicon Valley. But guess what? That widget-producing firm in the heartland will be more dependable, and will probably provide a better return on your money. And isn’t that why you’re investing anyway?

Now, we’re not telling you to avoid trends altogether. Trends are important to investing. In fact, if you can get in ahead of the curve, there are great short-term opportunities when you buy in to fads. But here, we’re usually playing the “greater fool theory”: we assume that someone else will pay more than we did, even when we know it isn’t worth it. I mean, many of us made money in the internet days playing this game, but if someone else saw the fad first, we could be wasting our money.

There’s no harm in buying stocks that might become “popular” in the future, if you can predict future fads, and then sell them after they become overpriced. But to remain sane and safe, stick to companies with solid fundamentals: earnings, stable growth, strong balance sheet, etc. In other words, only buy companies that are good values with good prospects. If a company carries some attraction for fad-followers, so much the better. But don’t pay extra just because of the “bling-bling” and the “glam” appeal. Fads and fashions are unpredictable - make no mistake. Don’t buy the stock unless you’d want to own it even if your fashion prediction falls flat. If it still looks good - even if your guesses about tastes are wrong - then maybe it’s a worthy holding.

Successful investing is not just finding profit opportunities, but keeping your losses to a minimum. Don’t buy stocks that have no substance. Stay away from the bling!
