Next colour, which by the way has endured from last winter, is purple and certainly shouldn’t be missing in your wardrobe in the spring and summer if you like to radiate and attract and arouse curiosity in men.

On the fashion walks we could see different tones of light green colour as a result of approaching spring. Some designers have also decided to follow lighter tones like sky blue, metallic and grey because they are considered to be a classic spring colours.

Other colours like yellow, orange and gold are going to emerge more often towards June and July, as they represent the beauty of summer and every woman’s gratification during this season.

Another colour you should have in your wardrobe is gold, although it should be used more with accessories. We certainly shouldn’t leave out white and black and their combinations, as they are always good to enhance elegance and feminine features in every woman. Brown is a colour for every occasion and thus is one of the colours of current fashion trends. Most of us were already getting tired of this long and cold winter and so we have all welcomed warmer temperatures. And as a new season is almost here we can obviously experience a big shift in daily outfits. Every skinny woman who wants to be attractive and look sexy should take an advantage of exposed midriff. You might think it could be too courageous for some women but it certainly is effective and also very practical in hot summer. So if your body shape can afford such a luxury just give it a shot and stay in a line with current fashion trends.

Because this year is more feminine driven than any other, the pants and the shorts are not presented as an extensive part of fashion catwalks. When it comes to motifs then flora and folk motifs of Africa and North America are going to be very popular as they represent the spirit of current season when the nature is awaking and growing to the same beauty as you can achieve in such an outfit. Bangalore Fashion Week is running full steam ahead as planned with apparently 32 designers having confirmed participation. Now do not ask us the names because just as the rest of the world, we are as clueless about the names of the ‘32 minus 8′ designers. Ask about the names of the remaining 24 designers, and no one seems to be willing to be giving in. The four-day extravaganza will apparently be a host to some of the country’s top-notch designers, several upcoming designers, leading buyers, and some of the country’s best known models.

We spoke to Gouri Kapur one of the board members of BFW, “We have gotten a lot of entries but have yet to shortlist the final designers who will be showcasing at the event. We will be concentrating on quality. We will also be giving a platform to young designers.”The members on the BFW board who will be excising this quality control include Rahul Dev Shetty, Sheetal Sharma (last minute entry as the choreographer of the show), Sanchitta Ajjampur, Gouri Kapur, Mirza L Baig, Siddharth Mahajan and Feroze Khan.

Manovi raj Khosla, who is a participating member, has done a turnabout from his stand where he earlier thought that the idea of having BFW was ‘non starter’ in the first place! Now he changes sides and says, “Hey it’s Bangalore so how can I not do it! I have confirmed to the organizers verbally about an hour ago (relatively speaking) but have not signed on the dotted line yet. I will be showcasing my own collection comprising of both menswear and womens wear. As of now I do not have any showstopper in mind. Commenting on the line-up of designers at Bangalore Fashion Week, Feroz Khan - Creative Director, Dream Merchants said, “Designers are the soul of any fashion event, and we are indeed glad to host some of the country’s leading names.” Apparently the ramp will have no stars as according to some board members, the stars take away the limelight from the designer. The star of every show will be the designer.

The participating designers at BFW are also being promised exposure and access to a selection of Indian and international buyers from South Africa, Japan, Europe amongst other parts of the fashion world. Well, it’s a sponsored event and ‘talks still on for the main sponsor’, even though there are exactly 12 days left for the gala event! Well, we sincerely wish them the very best, even though the need of yet another fashion week in India is yet to be justified! Oh yeah, by the way all eight participating designers have been invited to showcase and as such do not have to pay any fee. On the contrary, it’s an all expense paid trip ahem platform for them. Right now let’s focus our attention to the Gucci Medium Hobo. Before anyone jumps down anyone’s throat (including my own)- this is simply a style of a bag and none of us personally killed the rabbits being used for this. So Gucci is one of my favs. I love my Large Horsebit Hobo, and I just love many of their styles and designs. This hobo is made of chocolate laser-cut rabbit with chocolate leather trim and bamboo details. I love the shape, I love the color, I love the bamboo, and I happen to love the fur. Gucci has this bag readily available for $3,150 via Bergdorf Goodman.

My eyes are not deceiving me. This is indeed the Gucci Papillon Evening Bag that has caught my attention. There are a few reasons that this is a great evening bag. First is the price; which is by no means super cheap, but in the world of handbag lovers $750 for a bag from a huge designer house and with exotics is relatively inexpensive. Second, the look of the bag is alluring. It mixes the bamboo detail to give it the tropical resort feel, but doing so in black keeps it classy for evening wear. I feel like I’ve been kind of a Negative Nancy lately, so I hopped on Saks.com hoping to write about something I really like for you guys.

Unfortunately, instead of doing that, I have to be negative again. And it’s all Gucci’s fault.

The Gucci Tribeca Medium Shoulder Bag is a disaster. Of epic proportions. And that’s coming from someone that normally really likes Gucci, even when they get a bit wacky with their designs. I usually understand what they’re up to, but here…there just are no words. It’s a big bag with a skinny, tiny strap - bad proportions! It’s got a textured heart inset placed randomly on the front - icky! And it’s got a big ol’ tattoo design in the tradition of the geniuses (and I say that facetiously) over at Ed Hardy right smack dab in the middle. Eww. I’ve heard rumblings of unhappiness with the Cruise collection over in our Gucci section on the forum, but I figured it would still have some redeeming qualities to most of the bags. Some of them aren’t so bad, but this? This is bad. I say this out of love, Gucci. I want you to make beautiful things. So please, for Spring, try harder. But, if you disagree, buy through Saks for $1,395.
